FFVII VS FFVIII!
Today we look at the two best ff's for the ps/ps2. Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII The many attributes of similarities and equivilents. First we will look at the main heros.
Cloud Vs Squall: Well Cloud Strife is a guy that at first is uncaring and stubborn, but throughout the game a tale unlocks about him and shows that he is a caring guy he just has trouble showing it. But asked for heroic tendencies he has got them. He also has the sweet huge ass bustersword. You HAVE GOT to be strong to weild this thing! Also gotta love his spikey blonde hair and his bright blue eyes! Of course why the hell does he have PURPLE pants!?
Squall Leonheart is a different story now, he was stubborn quiet and uncaring in his story it unfolds that he is not as heroic as he is in love. He has better hair than Cloud though, it is much better shown. His sword is the gunblade, its kinda cool, but it is light and you don't gotta be strong for that shit! He runs kinda like a pansy too, but thats more of the animation of the game. So Cloud wins this one, he is much cooler.
Now the sidekicks of the game we have Barret VS Zell: Barret is the left hand man to Cloud. He has a gun on his arm, he is a big muscular black man that has a mouth to make sailors crindge. He is AWESOME! He is tought, but also soft when it comes to his daughter because he cares about her more than anything. Even though in the beginging of the game he is the leader, Cloud takes the position later on. Also he is funny and hatefull towards Shinra the most out of anyone. And he shows it.
Zell: The right hand man of Squall, I think they are best friends or something, Zell is pretty damn cool though too, when he is first introduced he does that cool backflip, and his hair is the shit! And his weapon is brass knuckles, so that is pretty cool too. And he swears, but not that much. So this one is a tie -_-
Now the main chicks: Aeris VS Rhinoa- Aeris is an ancient, she does not know it for a long time. (An ancient is the equivelent to a goddess technically) she is a bum that sells flowers and is Cloud's lover. She where's a nice pink dress and her weapon is a pole! Her graphic is cuter more than hot. And her avatar is nice. And her breasts are a fine size. And she is slaughtered by Sephiroth, that is the coolest thing in the whole game.
Rhinoa-She is a princess or something like that, she has long black hair and her breasts are nice because she wears that tight shirt! Her weapon is that cool star on a rope thing. And she is plain hot! She does a psycho thing that is virtually annoying. But Rhinoa is hotter so she wins this one.
Now for hidden characters: Well FFVIII doesn't have any so FFVII gets this one automatically.
Other characters: RedXIII vs Irvine. Well RedXIII is a fox thing that uses hair garments as weapons. He does do a kool bite the scientist scene, but not too exciting.
Irvine-He uses a cool gun(not the first ff char to use one though) and you meet him because he is supposed to be the sniperer of the sorceress, but he chickens out, of course he is cooler so Irvine wins this one.
Graphics: Ick, Since they were made two different years they improved on graphics when VIII came out so VIII wins this one.
Intros: Now FFVII's intro is cool, stars and the first character you see is Aeris, but you don't know it at first. And then the subway scene, not too exciting. Now FFVIII's intro is superb! They have a sword fight with Seifer and Squall! Its great FFVIII wins this one.
Bad guys: There are two major badguys in both...sorta. FFVII has Sephiroth and his "mother" jenova. FFVIII has Edea and Seifer. Now Sephiroth can fly, he weilds the legendary masamune, his hair is awsome and he dresses great too. Seifer is a weirdo who has enslaved himself in working for the Sorceress. Jenova is Sephiroth's "Mother" and puts up many hard fights. Edea does the same thing but she is human for the most part.....FFVII wins!
Biggs and Wedge vs Biggs and Wedge. These chars are in both games like most ffs. Now in FFVII they are good and are unfortunatley killed by Shinra. In FFVIII they are bad guys and you have to unfortunatly kill them, although the battles with them are funny being good is a lot better FFVII gets this one!
Annoying boss fight: Now many may agree or disagree but the boss fights I found most annoying in FFVII (not mentioning the last boss) was the Materia Keeper. You can't use fire or Earth on it. It has many crazy attacks that can kill more than one of your party members. And if you have vincent and his beast limit break he may use mega flare and heal the bastard. The FFVIII annoying boss was that gunner you fighting during the infiltration mission! Not only do you have a timer but you need your summons to have boost or it is impossible unless your really high levels. This thing is extremely diffficult as well. But Materia Keeper was a lot harder! So FFVII wins this one!
Soundtrack: The soundtrack of FFVII was so good there is not one song I do not like on it. There are some that i don't like to listen to because they give me bad flashbacks but i still like them.
Mini games: The mini games on both games are equally fun...tie!
Summons: Well the summon system in these games are not similar at all, FFVII you need to equip summons by equipping materia to your weapons. FFVIII you simply just give them to your characters seperate from weapons. And Summons are called GFs in FFVIII.
Ramuh vs Quezcotl. Well in FFVII the lightning summon you get is Ramuh, and his action is cool, lightning flashes everywhere and a giant stone appears and there Ramuh is. But Quezcotl is an electric bird that does a huge shock wave! Quezy wins.
Ifrit vs Ifrit- FFVII and VIII get Ifrit for fire. The Ifrit in VII is cooler though, because of his attack.
Shiva vs Shiva: They are both hot but in FFVIII since there is more detail VIII Shiva is hotter.
Battle System/Magic System: Well the battle systems are not fully different with the exception of limit breaks. The limit break system in VII was a meter and once it was full you HAD to use it, which isn't always a good thing...in FFVIII you could never be sure since you would lose it if you heal. The magic system in VII is pretty cool too, you equip Materia to weapons and armor and it gives or takes away stats. FFVIII you draw magic not buy it, and you distribute it by how many you have...VII wins!
Plot: FFVII is a battle against the Evil company Shinra and the equally evil badguy Sephiroth. FFVIII You have to defend your school and then go on an adventure to stop an evil sorceress that isn't actually evil...yeah VII wins!
Battle music: FFVII!!!!
Comedy: The funniest part in ffviii is when Zell very poorly attempts to grab Rhinoa's hand. The funniest part in ffvii is when Cloud goes into the honey bee inn and gets into a tub with 10 gay men. Whose the winner? VII
Chocobos: FFVII Chocobos play a huge role, in order to get the highest magic you must get a black chocobo by training chocobos. (thats not the only way, its just the easiest). In ffVIII a chocobo is optional. VII wins!
Cinemas: Well the coolest cinemas of ffVII and VIII are very cool. VII's coolest cinema is right before the motorcycle mini game, when they do the cool escape thing. FFVIII's coolest cinema is when they are in the begining of the war and before the fighting soldiers on rope mini game. VII wins though.
Overall score: 15/17-FFVII
08/17-FFVIII
YEAH IN UR FACE VIII FANS!
