Ok, this reveiw is for all three system Soul Calibur II games. Only reveiwed by Mike.
Ok, this game is crazed and loved by millions. This game is more popular than the Poke'mon games were back in '98. Now let me just say I cannot see why. I am a fighting game fan, I love Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Tekken. But Soul Calibur II is just not the same type of fighting game. First I must say that the worst version of this game (yes I have played all three) is the Ps2 version. PS2 has a pixel problem with a lot of their games and this game is no exception. The middle version I vote is the GCN version. Having Link is pretty cool but that still does not make the game any better. And as much as i hate to say it, as much as I oppose Microsoft's gaming system, the X-Box version is the best. Spawn is the best of the special characters. The controls for the X-Box version is the easiest for a strange reason and it has the most technological advances of the three systems. (And remember I hate X-Box with a passion). Now I must say of all the things they could have done with this game, they didn't. It would be nice to have some voice overs, it would be nice to have some exciting music, I mean the music for most of the levels are depressing. Also, I stab someone with a sword, where's the bloodshed? Where's the decapitation? I mean they could make this game more grewsome than Mortal Kombat, I mean this game makes no sense! Also most of the characters are souped up, there really is no sucky character. Of course what I do like about this game is the falling out of the ring in every stage. But the graphics could have been better, the sound could have been WAY better! I give this game a 5/10.
Advantages:
+Spawn on X-Box
+Falling out of the ring.
Disadvantages:
-Graphics could be better
-Could be more blood shed
-Poor sound
-No voice overs.
